The Student Blogging Challenge has started, yea!
I have signed up to be a mentor for the second time this year. I signed up to be a mentor because I think it is important to provide an authentic audience for student work and because it helps me get better at commenting on blogs. It can take a lot of time to comment on all of the blogs I have been assigned, but I really enjoy doing it.
I am a media and computer teacher, although at the moment I am not teaching in a classroom. Instead I am working for our provincial department of education, Alberta Education, helping write a new elective curriculum about careers and technology for students in grades 5-9. (For you non-Canadians out there, provinces are like states.)
I look forward to reading some great student blogs over the next 10 weeks.
Let the blogging begin!
