It’s Design Week in DS106. I am one of the volunteers/cheerleaders this week.
I love exploring the impact that design has on my life. I teach media, communication, and other nerdy things that depend on an understanding of design and layout and space. I love exploring and photographing architecture.
And looking for patterns in man-made and natural objects.
Recently I have been helping my youngest daughter explore interior design, from listening to her re-imagine the rooms in design magazines to exploring the steps to being a designer (credentials and education required.) We both liked the short video explanations of six major creative movements in design on Brain Pickings last week.
I don’t know what Cog Dog has in store for us this week; I didn’t find the time to read ahead and explore what other iterations of this class have done. But I know it will be interesting, I will learn a few things and it will change how I think about design.
